# A photo, a paragraph, or your own hand.

> Photograph a cookbook page, paste a caption, or type the recipe yourself. ClipCook saves all three the same way. Typing needs no model at all.

Video is one origin. The importer has three more: text, photo and manual.

Text is for a caption, a transcript, or a recipe someone sent you. You paste it and extract. Photo is for a cookbook page, a handwritten note, or a screenshot where the ingredients are visible. You can take the picture or pick it from the library. Those photos can also be attached to a video import when the amounts never made it into the description.

## No model required

Manual skips extraction. You write the title, the ingredients and the steps yourself. That is the path when you already know the recipe, or when you do not want a provider involved.

Every path that uses a model still stops on a draft. You can fix servings, times, tags and notes before saving. In the library you search by title or tag, and you can mark a recipe as a favorite. The app language can follow the phone, or you can set it in Settings.
